We are the youngest section in the scouting family and our Motto is "Be Prepared to Have Fun".
Boys and girls are welcome to join Beaver Scouts between the ages of 6 and 8. When they reach the age of 8 they will move up to Cubs.
Beaver Scouts meet in Colonies and we have 16 Colonies within our District, so there is plenty for you to choose from. They meet at different times and days of the week. Have a look at the map showing where our Groups are to find the nearest Group to you.
During a Colony night the Beaver Scouts will work towards a number of Challenge and Activity Badges, the highest of which, that a Beaver Scout can earn, is a "Chief Scout Bronze Award". There are also Staged Badges which can be obtain all the time whilst they are in Scouting.
By work I mean we have lots of fun earning these badges, playing games, craft making, visiting and having visits in and around the local community. We also introduce the Beaver Scouts to the nights away from home experience by having 24 hour Sleepovers.
As well as all the activities that you can take part in with your Colony and Group we also have District events that all colonies are invited to. Where you can meet fellow Beaver Scouts and have fun together. We have a range of events which include a Fun Day, Christmas Party and a Sleepover.
So all you young Beaver Scout wannabees out there come and join in with all the fun.
Not forgetting all you adults there are plenty of ways that you can help - supporting your local Group, Colony or District in many different ways - helping the leaders at a Colony night or helping with the admin (which, I'm afraid still has to be done). Of course, we are always looking for Leaders, adults who want to help prepare our young people for the future and give something to their community.
All adult helpers are expected to complete a CRB and learn about keeping our children safe.
