166th Mickleover: Beavers? Completed it mate!

Date: 4th Apr 2024 Author: Nick Swan

A member of 166th Mickleover Beavers has achieved all badges he can achieve as a Beaver!

Alex Morrison aged 7 set his sights high when he achieved his Chief Scout Bronze award in July 2023.

Alex has spent a lot of time achieving them at Beaver sessions, but also in his own time.

He has achieved his bronze award, 6 challenge awards, 23 activity badges, plus the activity plus badge, and 15 different staged badges, some of the staged he has higher than stage 1 too.

Alex and his mum Shelley have loved the opportunity to learn about all the different badges and have enjoyed the experiences they have had.

Alex has been sailing in Greece, Snowboarding in Tamworth and Hiking looking for trig points all over the country.

His Beaver Scout Section Volunteers have loved receiving their videos, including ones about online safety and stop motion videos too.

For his activity plus badge, Alex chose to learn the alphabet in sign language and taught his class at school what he’d learnt.

All the Volunteers at 166th Mickleover Scout Group are blown away by his achievements. We very rarely get someone who has achieved this, especially when they strive to achieve the staged badges too!

A huge well done to Alex and watch out Cub leaders, he’s a determined boy!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
